Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research Notice is to identify potential sources capable of designing/producing indoor range equipment consisting of targetry, baffle plates, dry backstops and auger type bullet collection systems. Interested firms are asked to review the following attachments, found on TACOM-Rock Islands Solicitation Information Page URL: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm under Market Surveys: Attachment 001, Indoor Range Draft PD (Performance Description); At tachment 002, Indoor Range Floor Plan; Attachment 003, Indoor Range Partial Electrical Floor Plan  Power; Attachment 004, Indoor Range Partial Electric Floor Plan  Auxiliary Systems, and to provide feedback, comments, suggestions to the information conta ined therein. The equipment will be installed in a facility that will allow firing at elevations from zero to ten (10) feet above the floor at a range of 50 meters from the targets while linearly tapering toward the target line. Bullet traps shall include an auger or similar system to pass all rounds into a single container. Backstop should still allow firing as close as 7 meters from the target line. Range shall accommodate firing up to 7.63 mm rifled ball ammunition. Accommodation of armor piercing rounds is not required. Baffles shall allow targets that expose and conceal (rotation around a vertical axis allowed) as well as targets that move across the 30 meter width of the facility at various speeds. Target control shall be from a booth located at the re ar of the facility. Control device shall allow operation of the targetry devices and allow independent control of up to 14 stationary and 2 moving targets and timed exposure. Fixed Iron Maiden type targets are also required. Firms capable of providing t he above services/equipment should indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary of their company capabilities/history providing this type of services/equipment. The Government has a particular interest in refining Section 4 of the PD (Attachment 001)  Quality Assurance Requirements  and asks respondents to address this (and all PD sections) in as much detail as possible. This is a sources sought for planning and market research purposes and shall not be construed as a Request for Pr oposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government.
