- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Edenspace Systems Corporation of Dulles VA, for the acquisition of Phytoremediation testing which include the fol lowing services: Planting, maintaining and harvesting the ferns Pteris vittata, mayii, and multifida, measuring their rate of removal of arsenic from soil, and preparing a final report. The services will be performed at several properties located in Spri ng Valley FUDS, Washington, DC. The Sole source determination is based on the need for specific plants which can remove arsenic to below 20 ppm. Edenspace is the only company licensed to sell plants which are currently known to hyperaccumulate arsenic to meet this requirement. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to not compete the proposed acquisition is within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by April 10, 2007 will be considered by the Government.
