- Office of the Acquisition Executive, Defense Intelligence Agency to Host First Annual Defense Intelligence Acquisition Conference and Trade Show, May 14-17, 2007, at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center located in Keystone, Colorado. CONFERENCE CONTENT: The theme for this year's conference is "Capability Partners in the Global War on Terror." Highlighted both by President Bush and the new DNI, Mr. Mike McConnell, in his recent swearing-in ceremony, "Acquisition Excellence and Agility in Rapidly Delivery Needed Capabilities." will be among their top agenda priorities. The DIA Office of the Acquisition Executive continues to aggressively reach out to the nation's businesses (including service-disabled veteran owned small businesses) by conducting technical panel sessions and procurement workshops throughout the conference. Sessions will link businesses with program managers, address business issues and concerns, and provide information that will increase procurement opportunities. The conference will explore knowledge building, problem solving and strengthening the intelligence mission, as well as strengthening the connection to the warfighter and the war on global terrorism through acquisition excellence. The outcomes of the Defense Intelligence Acquisition Conference are the following: To build the necessary foundational relationships and contacts across the department and the community necessary to facilitate information sharing, best practices leveraging and interagency cooperation; To share the latest knowledge on a broad spectrum of critical acquisition and procurement topics from a pool of leading experts for industry, academia and government through training workshops, panel discussions and breakout seminars; and To leave participants with valuable insight and practical tools that can be immediately and easily leveraged to improve missions performance and capability delivery through acquisition. Workshop topics will include the following: Acquisition Competencies in DIA and throughout the IC, Acquisition Planning/Program Management, Community Acquisition Risk Center, Contingency Acquisition, Contracting Officer Representative, Data Reporting/FPDS-NG, Earned Value Management., Forecast to Industry, Industry Roundtable, Performance-Based Acquisition, Topics in Acquisition and more. The conference plenary topics will include the following discussions: the strategic role of acquisition in the Intelligence Mission, acquisition excellence and agility, defense acquisition transformation, AT&L strategic human capital, acquisition application in Intelligence programs, growing the acquisition leader, procurement in intelligence, Defense Procurement Outlook, DoDIIS Enterprise, contingency acquisition success, lessons in leadership, Contracting for Services/GAO High Risk/ Section 812 Compliance, and Industry Panels. Industry and government networking time will be provided during the conference as well as government and industry exhibits.
