Description
The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) will conduct the 15th Annual Global Demilitarization Symposium & Exhibition May 14-17, 2007 at the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno, NV. This annual event continues to support Department of Defense in numer ous efforts directed at reducing the stockpile of excess and obsolete strategic, tactical, and conventional munitions. The agenda will focus on the global challenges and successes experienced in the disposition of energetic materials. Topics of interest wi ll include ongoing disposal, resource recovery, recycling, and reuse programs (R3), sale of demil products, research and development efforts, transitioning technologies, and the latest policy issues that affect this business. Participation by industry, aca demia, government and international personnel is encouraged to foster cooperation in meeting the challenges of future efforts. Papers and exhibits are solicited for a global exchange of technical information and ideas on these subjects. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Grand Sierra Resort, 2500 E. Examples include cost savings technologies; Ammonium Perchlorate, White Phosphorous (felt pads), Re d Phosphorous, Plasticized White Phosphorous or Depleted Uranium conversion, destruction or dispostion; 40mm HEDP Grenade demilitarization; or other items of community interest.
