Description
This is a sources sought synopsis for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), The Neuroscience and Neuropsychology of Aging(NNA) NIH is seeking qualified, capable and interested small business, small disadvantaged business, HUBZone small business, veteran owned small, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, and women owned small business, very small business and emerging small business concerns that can provide the NIH with the following: Conference ?Cognitive Aging Summit? National Institute on Aging Neuroscience and Neuropsychology of Aging Program The Neuroscience and Neuropsychology of Aging (NNA) Program needs an immediate price quote for support for our upcoming conference to be held in the Bethesda, Maryland/Washington, D.C. area. Below is a statement of work that outlines the general scope of this task order; we will provide the specifics at a later date. Please provide us with the price quote for the following services provided by your company: The contractor shall provide necessary conference services and program support for a meeting to be held in the Washington, DC / Bethesda, Maryland area (either near or metro-access to Capitol Hill) on October 10-12, 2007. Independently, and not as an agent of the Government; the Contractor shall furnish all necessary services, including: qualified personnel; material; equipment; and facilities not otherwise provided by the Government as needed to perform the Statement of Work below: The contractor shall perform, but not necessarily be limited to the following tasks: A. Meeting Support Technical support by the contractor will include coordination for facilities for sleeping rooms for approximately 100 participants; negotiating lowest cost for meeting space; coordination of AV needs; arranging for meals and refreshments for 150-200 participants as appropriate and permissible; and on-site support. Specifically the contractor shall: 1. Provide meeting facilities to accommodate 150-200 participants, classroom or theater-style, for October 10th and 11th. 2. Provide sleeping rooms (single occupancy) for approximately 100 participants. 3. Arrange continental breakfast, coffee breaks and lunch for approximately 150-200 participants for October 1oth and 11th. 4. Provide meeting facilities to accommodate approximately 50 participants, inverted U or hollow square style, for half-day on October 12th. 5. Arrange continental breakfast and one coffee break for approximately 50 participants for October 12th. 6. Onsite support to include: meeting room set-up, including audio provisions for hard-of-hearing participants; operations of AV equipment; interaction with staff, vendors; trouble-shooting . AV equipment should include provision of the following: LCD projector, laptop computer, boards or easels for display of posters, microphones (lavaliere, table and/or floor), laser pointer. Some of these pieces of equipment may best be provided by the NIA. The contractor will meet with the NIA personnel to determine which is the best source. B. Planned Meeting Conference entitled: ?Cognitive Aging Summit.? A two and 1/2 day meeting to be held in the Bethesda, Maryland/Washington, D.C. area. Approximately 100 participants requiring lodging (single occupancy), plus an additional 50-100 local participants, for an estimated total of 150-200 participants. This request is for interested firms with the capability of providing the required position to submit a capability statement along with projected pricing, to assist the Government in determining in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.502-2(b) whether or not this acquisition will be set-aside for any of the programs described above. The intended acquisition will be classified under North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) code 561110 All respondents are requested to identify their firm?s size and type of business. Interested firms responding to this market survey must provide (a) capability statement demonstrating their experience, skills and capability to fulfill the Government?s requirements for the above. The capability statement shall be in sufficient enough detail, but not to exceed 10 pages, so that the Government can determine the experience and capability of your firm to provide the requirements above. Your capability statement, not to exceed 10 pages, should include references. A copy of the capability statement must be received at the address identified in this synopsis by no later than close of business (1:00p.m local time) on April 16, 2007. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
