Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Procurement Operations, Science and Technology Acquisition Division, in concert with Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) professionals will jointly conduct an Industry Day on 07 May 2007 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the General Services Administration (GSA) Northern Capital Region Building, 1st Floor GSA Auditorium, 7th and D Streets, 301 7th Street SW, Washington, DC 20528. The Industry Day is being conducted under the auspices of market research for purposes of engaging potential competitors in open forum dialogue to discuss an identified DHS requirement to procure next generation Checked Baggage Screening System (CBSS) technology; the Manhattan II Project. This event is anticipated to last the entire scheduled duration with in-depth Government briefings covering such topics as TSA Manhattan II Phase I and Phase II Efforts, S&T Explosives Division Detection Overview, S&T Capstone IPT Process, TSA Manhattan II Requirements, Certification/IT&E, Algorithms and Screening Devices, Security, Intellectual Property, Integration Requirements, Detection Standards, and R&D Contracting Approach. Notwithstanding logistical or administrative matters, submission of questions prior to the Industry Day, whether oral or in writing, is not permitted. All questions shall be presented in writing during the actual event and documented accordingly by the Government. Answers to all questions submitted, even if answered verbally during the event, will be posted as an amendment to this ?Special Notice? for public viewing within two weeks following Industry Day conclusion. In addition, one-on-one sessions by individual firms with the Government may be scheduled following the Industry Day in furtherance of market research effort. In the event one-on-one sessions are held, all questions and answers resulting from these sessions, excluding classified information or company specific proprietary information, will be posted as an amendment to this ?Special Notice? for public viewing. Industry Day registration is required and may be accomplished by sending an email to the point of contact below citing purpose of email, company name, address, number of attendees, primary point of contact, telephone number, e-mail address, facsimile number, and business size indicating whether you are a large or small business in accordance with the size standard for the applicable NAICS Code ? 541710. Email responses for Industry Day registration must be no later than 01 May 2007, 4:30 PM (EST). Potential competitors are advised that this ?Special Notice? represents a market survey and is not a Request For Proposals or Invitation For Bids.
