- Description
- The following questions and answers are provided: Q1. Although you have given the required square footage for all of the structures, we believe that it is important to have the dimensions of each tent as it will be pertinent to the area in which you wish to install these tents. For instance: I have looked at a previous or current installation at the Statue of Liberty from satellite photography and it appears that the existing structure is 40' wide. Based on your required square footage of 3,680, I can conclude that this particular structure is 40' x 92'. I believe that the dimensions of this tent are integral to the design and function. A1. Will you require any flooring or carpeting in these tents? If so, will you require the tent vendor to provide it? A2. Flooring is used at times as needed. Flooring will be required on a case by case basis as it relates to NPS security and visitor service concerns. Carpeting is not required. Q3. How many sets of doors will you require in each tent? A3. See "apertures" in answer #1 Q4. Will the tents require installed lighting? If so, will you require the tent vendor to provide it? A4. The tents currently have lighting and HVAC. We will require lighting and HVAC as appropriate for the size and use of the space. The current tent vendor provides HVAC and lighting. Q5. Tent installation will require us to drive several 36" metal stakes into the ground/surface. If stakes cannot be driven, large concrete or water barrels will be required to anchor the structures. The latter is a more expensive proposition. Can you be specific as to which method(s) of installation you will require at each tent? A5. Stakes are not allowed. the tents need to be anchored by above ground means (water barrels, sand bags, etc.) Q6. I am assuming you will need electrical distribution in each tent to power lighting, security scanners, etc... Will it be part of this contract, or a separate RFP? If part of this contract, will you require the use of portable generators? A6. Portable Generators are currently provided by the tent vendor. We require that the space have the lighting and HVAC appropriate for the amount of space and use. The due date for expressions of interest in the project remains April 27, 2007.
