- Description
- The U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol, Laredo Sector has a requirement for the Fabrication and Installation of Truck Beds and Truck Accessories on Three 2007 Ford-550 Vehicles. This requirement is for the U.S. Border Patrol El Paso Sector, Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), El Paso, Texas. This requirement is being awarded under FAR Part 13 and will result in issuance of a purchase order. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quote. Quotes are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. The request for quote number is HSBP1007Q1071. This requirement is solicited as a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS set aside. NAICS code is 336211. One Firm-Fixed price order is anticipated to be awarded as a result of this request for quote. The overall purpose of this project is to outfit the three Ford-550 Vehicles to be capable of pulling any type of trailer BORTAC has in its fleet. In addition, the Ford-550 Vehicles will be outfitted with a front bumper and winch for off-road assistance. All lighting on truck bed shall meet DOT specifications. If contractor is located out-of-town (more than 100 miles of Biggs Army Airfield), contractor is responsible for the transportation of each vehicle from the BORTAC located on Biggs Army Airfield in El Paso, Texas to the job location and return the vehicle to the BORTAC unit once the job is completed. If contractor is within 100 miles of Biggs Army Airfield, the BORTAC will be responsible for the transportation of each vehicle to the contractor and for the pickup when work is completed. The contractor is responsible for all labor and materials to perform this job. TRUCK BED SPECIFICATIONS and GENERAL REQUIREMENT Contractor shall include the items shown below for Three Truck Beds: 1) Heavy-duty hauler bed with headache rack. 2) Two lights to light up truck bed. 3) D-rings for safety chain hook-ups, bumper and gooseneck. 4) Six heavy-duty recessed tie-down rings or rails located on truck bed as shown in photo. 5) Gooseneck ball mount with safety chain hook-ups (quote for 2 vehicles only). 6) Removable fifth wheel hitch with height adjustment (quote for 1 vehicle only). 7) Two multi-tow 7:4 trailer light connectors/adapters. 8) Clean and paint rear drive shaft and carrier bearing bracket to prevent rusting ad shown in photo. 9) Install electronic brake controller underneath steering column inside truck. 10) Spray on bed-liner, Linex or equivalent, product applied to the top of the truck bed. 11) Two mud flaps located behind the rear tires. 12) Running boards, black in color. 13) Truck bed should be painted same color as truck. 14) An unremovable and lockable tool box should be installed and included in the truck bed. 15) Include an area for a spare tire storage. FRONT OF TRUCK shall include the items shown below for Three Vehicles: 1) Heavy-duty bumper with brush guards (powder coated black). 2) Winch front mount, Ramey or equivalent, 90 feet of 7/16 heavy-duty cable with hook, 15,000 lbs capacity. ACCESSORIES shall include the items shown below for Three Vehicles: 1) Tri-ball hitch to include 1-7/8?, 2?, and 2-5/16? with locking pins. 2) Trailer light adapters that go from 7 to 4 prong. 3) Place the above items in glove compartment. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this acquisition. Company must be registered on Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before an award could be made to them. If company is not registered in CCR, they may do so by going to CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov. Wage Determination Number 2005-2511 Revision 2 applies to this acquisition and will be provided upon request. Period of Performance: Completion within 60 days from receipt of purchase order.
