- Description
- Introduction: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), of the United States Department of Transportation, is responsible for reducing the number of injuries and deaths on highways resulting from vehicle crashes. Specific Requirements: NHTSA plans to procure supplies and services with suppliers of Anthropomorphic Test Devices and associated instrumentation and equipment. The contractor shall provide the qualified personnel, facilities and equipment to provide the following items related to Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs): 1) provide anthropomorphic Test dummies, repair parts, and instrumentation as identified in part 572 of title 49 of the CPR; 2) provide production anthropomorphic test dummies, replacement parts, and instrumentation that are currently available from the contractors, but are not specified in Part 572; 3) provide Prototype Anthropomorphic Test Dummies, Parts and Instrumentation that are under development, including replacements or modifications to Part 572 specified parts; 4) provide engineering and technical services and labor for Task Orders for the Design Development of new or modified anthropomorphic test dummies and instrumentation; 5) provide calibration and testing equipment manufactured specifically for use on anthropomorphic test devices and instrumentation; 6) provide calibration and repair services for anthropomorphic test devices, including instrumentation; 7) provide the data acquisition equipment that is associated with the systems installed in the anthropomorphic test devices; and 8) provide training for the use of dummies, calibration and testing equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment. Contract Award: NHTSA intends to award multiple awards of indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts. Fixed Price Delivery Orders for parts and materials, and Time and Material Task Orders for calibration, repair and engineering services are anticipated to be let against the resulting contracts. The period of performance will be 5 years. Solicitation: The solicitation will be available for downloading from http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ on or about 04/20/2007. The anticipated award date for this resultant contract is expected on or about August 31, 2007.
