- DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATION/WORK STATEMENT STATEMENT OF WORK PART A - GENERAL INFORMATION A.1 INTRODUCTION - This requirement is for the installation of level sensors for the 3 boiler fuel tanks in the underground vault in the boiler plant at the Nashville Campus, TVHS. A.2 BACKGROUND - The work is being procured due to a requirement that fuel oil tanks be monitored for fuel levels and alarm if the levels get too high or too low. A.3 SCOPE OF WORK - Provide and commission the required equipment to provide continuous tank level data on three (3) #2 oil storage tanks. STATEMENT OF WORK PART B - WORK REQUIREMENTS B.1 The following tasks are to be completed by the Contractor: Install probes (sensors) on the top of each fuel oil tanks Run new conduit from sensor location to boiler room main deck. Make wire terminations Level controllers to be mounted near existing level indicators. Pull cable in new conduit and connect to controller. Startup system and program new sensors on existing front end Train plant operators in the use of equipment. Secure all necessary and required permits prior to work commencement. Upon completion of the work, the contractor will complete the following to show that the work was completed: Demonstrate to VA Personnel that the system works properly, that the sensors track fuel levels, that alarm points can be set and that the system will show alarms and return to normal messages Wiring diagrams of system STATEMENT OF WORK PART C - SUPPORTING INFORMATION C.1 Place of Performance - Boiler plant, Nashville Campus, TVHS C.2 Period of Performance - Work is to be performed during the hours of 8 - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. C.3 Special Considerations -.Technicians must notify the Utility Systems Supervisor or his designee upon arrival and departure from the work site. C.3.1 Contractor Furnished Materials - 3 each ULTRASONIC NON CONTACT LEVEL TRANSMITTER / INDICATOR Lot of pipe fittings as required Lot of conduit as required Set of installation drawings Sets of electrical installation drawings. 750 feet coaxial cable for sensors All other supplies, equipment, tools and personnel to accomplish the work specified, with prior approval of the Contracting Officer. C.3.2 Government Furnished Materials and Services. None C.3.3 Qualifications of Key Personnel - Technicians must install according to applicable codes and standards (knowledge and ability to perform that work is required). C.3.4 Security Requirements - The contractor will not have or need access to the VA computer network.
