Description
Electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Note(s) 26. The United State (U.S.) Government intends to purchase the Unlimited Legal Rights to the engineering and technical data contained in the Interface Control Drawings (ICD) for M61 family of gun systems and related equipment. All technical data is intended for internal and external use and competition actions by the U.S Government. The ICD will portray and explain all critical phases and constraints of the successful handling of 20MM ammunition throughout M61 family guns and related systems. The ICD will define a status for the F-15, F-16, F/A-18, F/A-22, and Mark-15 CIWS gun systems that employ the M61 family of guns.? Using these documents as a reference, engineers will be able to understand every aspect of handling 20mm ammunition thus minimizing the probability of interference issues in the years to come. At this time, according to the most current market research, General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products (GD-ATP) is only known source to the U.S. Government which owns the most current technical drawings that could satisfy the requirement describe above. ??
