Description

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT to enter into a contract on a sole source basis with Vinyl Products Manufacturing Inc. 10117 HWY 50 E, Carson City NV 89706. Vinyl Products Manufacturing Inc. is a supplier of the Security First Correctional Mattress 30 x 76 x 6. The United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB) has requested the service of Vinyl Products Mfg. Inc. to provide Security First 6 vinyl mattresses which are manufactured by the listed vendor. Security First mattresses are considered to be the mo st advanced institutional mattresses available. Benefits include a patented window-clear cover which hinders contraband concealment, hermetically welded seams with no thread or scrim, and resistance to fire, water, mildew, bacteria and tearing. The Securi ty First mattress is at least twelve times more resistant to fatigue failure than competed mattresses. The Security first mattress will last four to five years, as opposed to the traditional, scrim reinforced mattresses which require replacement every two (2) to three (3) years. Vinyl Products Manufacturing Inc., to our knowledge, is the only such company that can provide the detailed specifications that is needed for our environment. No contract will be awarded on the basis of the offers received in respon se to this notice.
