- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, intends to purchase GEDMS DDG Modernization systems via split awards to The Boeing Company and DRS Technologies. The Boeing Company is located at: 3370 E MIiraloma Ave, Anaheim, CA 92806-1911. DRS Technologies is located at: 485 Cayuga Rd, Buffalo, NY 14225-1309. The Boeing Company and DRS Technologies are the only two known qualified manufacturing sources for this militarized system. This procurement is for GEDMS components required to convert the DDG 111/112 FODMS systems, and GEDMS units for the Land Based Test Sites. All items shall be in compliance with the system specification DMS 500.7 and GEDMS 300.0 and will be listed in the solicitation that will follow this announcement. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Boeing and DRS directly. Delivery, inspection and installation shall likewise be identified in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued 4 May 2007 with a closing date of 19 June 2007. Contract award is estimated to be 15 August 2007.
