- Sources Sought Synopsis Response Deadline: APRIL 17, 2007 NAICS Code(s): 336611-Ship Building and Repairing Subject: Paxman Recurring Repair Service Requirement Primary Place of Performance: Performed at the contractor?s facility Point of Contact: Nora Cherry, Contract Specialist Albany Georgia and Mr. Paul Dees, Shop Planner, Barstow California Description: Inspect Repair, Pressure Test of Paxman Exhaust Manifolds, Turbine Inlet Cases, Exhaust Bends, Sea Water Pump Shafts, Fresh Water Pump Shafts and Jockey Pulley Shafts. Repairs will be in accordance with the Technical Manual for Paxman Valenta (RP200) Diesel Engine and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society for Quality (ASQC), quality management and quality assurance standards. Delivery: Complete a certificate of conformance that shows and certifies that all items of work under the ordered work package have been completed. Quality assurance: All performance under this contract shall be subject to the approval of Cost Work Center (CWC), 620 Quality Assurance Branch Barstow California. Transportation of Equipment and Material: Items will be transported to and from Contractor by Contractors own transportation at an agreed upon charge to the government. Pick up will be at Asset Coordination Team Maintenance Center United States Logistics Ba se (USMCLB) Barstow and delivery will be to USMCLB Warehouse 405 Receiving Barstow. Sources Sought Synopsis: The purpose of this Sources Sought Synopsis is (1) to announce a need and (2) to provide a starting point for market research. We request and encourage immediate responses to this announcement, enabling our identification of parties interested in supporting our effort. This announcement may or may not result in a solicitation. 1. Requirements: Provide service to clean, inspect, repair, pickup and delivery of Elliott Turbocharger. 1.1. Task A: Perform a logical and systematic examination of the Elliott Turbocharger 1.1.2 Task B: Clean, inspect and repair and insure they are capable of performing in the same manner as an identical new item. 2. Requirements: Steam clean, magnaflux, inspect and polish. Pickup and delivery will be provided by the government. 2.1. Task A: At the direction of the Government, perform a logical and systematic examination of the Paxman Crankshaft to include visual and magnaflux. 2.1.2. Task B: Polish and insure crankshaft is suitable for use and capable of performing in the same manner as an identical new item. 3. Requirements: Inspect , repair, pressure test, pickup and deliver Paxman D/E Exhaust Manifold part # 16Y3JX46934C, F/E Exhaust Manifold part # 16Y3JX46935D, Turbine inlet case part # 16Y3JX46936B ,Exhaust Bend part # 16Y3JX46937B, Sea Water Pump Shaft part # 79OA211P15, Fresh Water Shaft part # Y3J42015B and Jockey Pulley Shaft part # 79MZ247. 3.1. Task A: Perform a logical and systematic examination of the Exhaust Manifold or Turbine Inlet Case or Exhaust Bend or Sea Water Shaft or Fresh Water Shaft or Jockey Pulley Shaft. 3.1.2. Task B: Inspect, repair, and pressure test Exhaust Manifolds, Inlet Cases and exhaust Bends to insure they are capable of performing in the same manner as an identical new item. 3.1.3.Task C: Inspect and repair Sea Water shafts, Fresh Water shafts and Jockey Pulley Shafts to unsure they are capable of performing in the same manner as an identical new item. 4. Requirements: Inspect, repair and calibrate Woodward Governors and Eurpopa Actuators for Paxman Engines. Pickup and delivery for will be provided by the government. 4.1. Task A: Perform a logical and systematic examination of the Woodward Governor or Europa Actuator. 4.1.2. Task B: Repair and calibrate Governors or Actuators and insure they are capable of performing in the same manner as an identical new item. See important note in final paragraph. Responses must include the following: Capability Statement: Provide a capability statement for each requirements and tasks listed above. Past performance information: As appropriate for your response, provide 3-5 references to demonstrate and document your company?s performance on service contracts (government or commercial). Include a brief description of the services provided, the period of performance, the contract number, the name, phone number, address, and email of the contracting officer and technical representative, and indicate whether your company carries a Central Contractor Registration. We will evaluate the information provided and may request a visit to your site. We will use this information to document our market research and develop an RFP distribution list.
