Description
NAICS Code: 421490 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Radiation Protection Division (RPD) in Washington, DC intends to award a Purchase Order to the National Safety Council, of Chicago, IL, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this purchase order is to purchase and distribute 1,000 additional "Understanding Radiation in Our World" radiation resource kits, to be used for RPD's communication outreach efforts targeting middle and secondary school students. Topics covered in each kit include: radiation definitions, its history, uses, sources, health risks and benefits, and radiation management and the relevant role it plays in public health. Each resource kit contains a 98-page guidebook for students, two ten-minute DVD's, a companion guide for educators, lesson plans, nuclear science wall chart poster and kit evaluation form, all in a self-contained carton for shipping and teacher storage. NSC's Environmental Health Center assisted RPD in the initial development of the education resource kits under a cooperative agreement, and possesses all the graphic design negatives, multi-media items and print files for each redesigned component of the kit. In addition, NSC works in tandem with the National Science Teachers Association to ensure effective distribution of the kits at significantly reduced costs. As such, NSC is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's requirement for reproduction and distribution of these kits. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 423490. NO SOLICITATIONS OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a capability statement, which if received by the response date of this announcement may be considered. Responses to posting must be in writing and submitted to Nicole Humphrey, Contract Specialist at humphrey.nicole@epa.gov. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions should be directed to Nicole Humphrey, Contract Specialist via e-mail at humphrey.nicole@epa.gov.
