- NAICS Code: 54199 Title: "METAALICUS: Site Characterization and Field Program for Lake 658 Water Column and Zooplankton" Posting Date: April 10, 2007 Procurement Office: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Administrative Contract Service Center (3803R), 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, DC 20460 Response Date: April 19, 2007 THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT, NOT A RFQ The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Air and Radiation (OAR), Office of Atmospheric Programs (OAP), Climate Protection Partnership Division (CPPD) intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Tetra Tech Inc. in Layfayette, CA. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide mercury sampling and sample collection, a key component in the core field program of the ecosystem mercury loading experiment known as METAALICUS. The METAACLICUS project is a one-of-a-kind experiment in which a research team has been given an approach by the Canadian Federal government to add toxic mercury to a whole ecosystem in order to document the extent, speed and mechanism with which it is taken up by biota that can lead to human and other wildlife exposures. Tetra Tech, Inc. is managing and providing modeling support on the METAALICUS project and therefore, is the only source capable of performing this requirement. Tetra Tech Inc. is experimentally adding mercury enriched stable isotopes to a lake, wetland and up land area in the Experiment Lakes Area of northwestern Ohio. This is not a request for quotation. No contract will awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice.
