Description
Pending the availability of funding, The US Department of Education intends to issue a sole source purchase order to ViaSim. ED began in February 2007 to review the current Federal student financial assistance program structure and consider possible alternatives. This process involved extensive consultations with a broad array of student aid experts. It has produced a wide range of alternative approaches for consideration by ED policy officials. As part of ED's review of these alternatives, ViaSim produced a high-level simulation that captures the current program structure. The purpose of this new Purchase Order is to enhance the details and robustness of the simulation in order to allow ED policymakers to assess the potential benefits and drawbacks of the various proposals in detail. This purchase order is a total small business set-aside. The Department intends to execute this purchase order on or before April 19, 2006.
