Description
The Mine Clearing Line Charge (MICLIC) M58, NSN 1375-01-326-9642, DODIC M913 is used to clear a path for tanks, vehicles, and personnel through minefields or other obstacles. The MICLIC consists of sets of C-4 blocks assembled together along a 350 f oot nylon rope/detonator cord assembly. The major manufacturing processes for the MICLIC assembly are extrusion of Composition C-4 (an RDX based plastic/moldable explosive), assembly and pack out. The C-4 is extruded into pellet halves which are placed i nside encasement sleeves and then assembled to a tensioned core rope, with a detonating cord assembly containing PETN. The C-4, fuze, packing slips and brown and green operating charts will be furnished GFM (Government Furnished Material). This market surv ey is only for the line charge, not the other components such as the rocket and fuze. The initial production is required during August to October, 2008 timeframe. Currently, there are no out-year buys projected. A respondent to this survey should be able to show adequate technical and manufacturing capability along with good past performance in the explosives processing industry. A respondent to this market survey must exhibit a majority of the skills and facilit ies required to manufacture this item. Interested companies who have the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the following information: a brief summary of your companys capabilities, description of facilities, business size information as it applies to NAICS code 325920, personnel, related manufacturing experience (similar items), estimated maximum monthly production quantities (and if manufacturing resources required to produce this item are shared with other items/production lines), and t he minimum procurement quantity (MPQ) required for economical production. Also provide a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) price per unit for 130 each and 260 each. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources, as well as the timeframe for obtaining. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of subtier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria. All contractors interested in the potential future solicitation for this item must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Interested parties have 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to submit their information.
