Description
The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, Disaster Prevention and Response Branch, Pittsburgh, PA, intends to issue a modification to an existing purchase order for professional services on Mine Seals Research paper. The tasks required are as follows: Statement of Work ? Mine Seals Research - Extension Mine Seals Paper ? Peer review Task 1: Support of the peer review process for the paper ?Explosion Pressure Design Criteria for Seals in U.S. Coal Mines? by Zipf, Sapko and Brune. Response to peer review comments of this influential research paper requires in-depth preparation and additional research work (60 hours). Seals - Long term Task 1. Participate in monthly round table technical planning meetings at Lake Lynn Laboratory or Pittsburgh Research Lab to discuss the long term seal research program. (10 hours) Task 2. Participate in round table technical meetings or conference calls with subject experts at Livermore and Sandia regarding NIOSH?s contract seal research with the National Labs. (30 hours) Prevention of Dust Explosion Hazards - CDEM and Coal Particle Size Task 1. Co-author a SME paper ?Field Evaluation of Coal Dust Explosibility Meter? with Marcia Harris. Submission for 2008 SME conference proceedings and the peer reviewed SME transactions. (60 hours) Task: 2 Complete NIOSH Report of Investigation with Ken Cashdollar on the Coal Dust Particle Size Analysis of U.S. Coal Mines. (40 hours) Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within fifteen (15) days form posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed ten (10) pages.
