Description
Contractor shall furnish 400 cases of 5.56mm ammunition with 77-Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Bullet, on an ordered basis during the base period and two option periods, in accordance with military specifications. For the base period of 1 Jun 07 throu gh 31 May 08, with two, one year options. This is a Requirements type contract. NAICS Code is 332992, Standard 1000 employees. Offerors are reminded that you must be registered and currently active with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) (http://www.ccr.gov) to be eligible for award. Request for Quotation(W911SF-07-T-0048) will be available on or about 7 May 2007, and will be available at no cost on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) (http://acquisition.army.mil). All responsible offerors may submit offer which will be considered by this Agency. SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 1. The contractor shall furnish ammunition in accordance with specifications shown below. 2. AMMUNITION, RIFLE, 5.56 CALIBER: a. BULLET: 77 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Bullet b. PRIMER & BRASS: Military Specs for brass hardness. Military Specs for primers or CCI #41 primers crimped in the brass. No waterproofing necessary on case mouth. Primers can be water proofed but not necessary. c. CARTRIDGE LENGTH: Over length not to exceed 2.260 inches when measured from tip of the bullet to the base of the cartridge. d. MUZZLE VELOCITY: Mussle velocity must average at least 2,750 feet per second (FPS) (plus or minus 25 FPS) measured at ambient temperature. When fired from 20 5.56mm barrels. e. All ammunition provided will be from the same production run. No lot shall be smaller than 50,000 rounds. A lot shall consist of the same lot of propellant, bullets, primers, and brass. f. ACCURACY STANDARDS: Must meet standard military accuracy specs for MK262. Must AVG less than 3.5 inches extreme spread at 300 yards or 300 meters for five of each ten shot groups. Groups will be fired from an accuracy test bolt rifle, from an accur acy fixture. No one ten shot group shall exceed 3.5 inches. g. FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Candidate ammunition must function and operate routinely in M16 style rifles. Must meet standard military pressure and function specs for 77gr 5.56mm ammunition. Ammunition must burn clean and leave no residue.
