Description
This is an amendment to Sources Sought Notice W91CRB07PMCIE5, issued 4 Apr 07, to identify manufacturers with an established record of superwashing American domestic wool fiber tops in the 22 micron and smaller range in the United States or its posse ssions. The superwashed wool must be of sufficient quality for the successful conversion into yarn or fabric for military garment end-use. For purposes of this Sources Sought Notice superwashing is defined as the Chlorine- Hercosett process with the sub sequent treatment of a polyamide polymer. Participation requirements- Source must have in use a Quality System that conforms to ISO 9001:2000 requirements. To be considered for this sources sought, the source must submit technical information and test data explaining the performance of their manuf acturing process. Source must also submit 5 linear yards of fabric that contains at least 51% American domestic, 22 micron and smaller, superwashed wool for physical evaluation. Include all appropriate MSDS sheets/ safety/ health information. Source mus t include cost in the form of 1) sold as American domestic, 22 micron and smaller, superwashed wool, 2) cost per yard of the fabric submitted. Source must submit all required information/ items no later than April 30, 2007. Evaluation Process- This is a sources sought notice seeking potential domestic sources for superwashing American domestic, 22 micron and smaller, wool fiber tops. This process does not lead to a procurement or contract of any kind. All submitted items /information will be reviewed to ensure compliance with the stated solicitation requirements. The government reserves the right to perform additional tests on all submitted items. Submitted information will not be returned. This is not a request for propos al or quotation. No solicitation document exists. This is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to procure these items, nor does the Army intend to award on the basis of this sources sought or otherwise pay for the information requested.
