- Provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and connections for Project 512-02-104; "CORRECT VENTILATION IN BSL-3" (Biological Safety Level-3) and Cage Washing areas at Research Service Animal Laboratory Facility in Quadrant "B" on Basement Floor, and upward to Seventh Floor roof, all at V.A. Medical Center, Baltimore, MD, 21201, which shall remain a functioning Hospital Building, and Animal Research Facility throughout duration of Contract Construction work, which shall include but not be limited to: sealed gypsum board dust barriers; low noise level demolition of masonry walls, trowelled-on flooring, and various equipment installations (no loud automatic hammering, sawing, or drilling in or above Animal Facility); all works within Animal Facility and Interstitial Space above same shall be completed while wearing substantial protective clothing supplied by V.A.; new masonry walls, trowelled-on flooring, door frames, doors, door hardware, painting, new "Beta Star" Sterilizer installation, steam piping, plumbing, HVAC ductworks and piping, extensive electrical works; Main Exhaust Duct completely sealed by Seamless, all Welded Stainless Steel Construction running from Animal Facility, across Interstitial Space above, then upward through 8-each 18-foot high Mechanical / Electrical "Service Bays" crowded with existing piping and ductworks, through several Stainless Steel offsetting transition ducts, and out onto Seventh Floor roof , into two new Exhaust Fans; with concrete floor slab cutouts, surrounded by concrete "housekeeping" curbs supported by new Structural Steel members painted and coated with spray-on fireproofing at each floor and roof, with other related mechanical, electrical, and control works, all to be in accordance with Contract Drawings and Specifications. Proposed Contract Construction Works have been divided into three (3) distinctly separate Phases, wherein each Phase shall be separately worked to completion before starting next Phase.
