Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repair to a 41 Foot Utility Boat (Station Cortez) Hull Number: 41370. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 20 April 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited as Small Business Concern. The Coast Guard will dry-dock the boat at the Coast Guard facility and the contractor shall perform all work at the Coast Guard Facility, located at Station St. Petersburg, 600 8th. Avenue SE, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701-5099. The performance period will be forty-two (42) days with a start date on or about 18 May 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for dry docking including but not limited to the following Base items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) UT Shot Hull Testing, (3) Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks (including disposal), (4) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers, (5) Renew Fuel Valves and Hoses, (6) Preserve Underwater Body, (7) Preserve Fiberglass Cabin Top, (8) Routine Dry-docking Tasks, (9) Fabricate and Install Portable Deck Assembly, (10) Renew Cabin Sliding Windows, (11) Renew Shaft Stuffing Cooling Hoses, (12) UTB Horn Replacement (EC 41 UTB-C-105). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
