- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) needs to acquire a site for purchase on which the Government may construct a VA medical center in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. VA will also consider acceptance of a donated site. VA will consider properties in the range of twenty-five (25) to seventy-five (75) contiguous developable acres. To be considered, the site must be within the following geographic boundaries: North - South shore of Lake Pontchartrain South - East bank of the Mississippi River West - Jefferson Parish side of Jefferson/St. Charles Parish Line East - bordering Franklin Avenue Other Requirements: 1) Site ownership must present free and clear title that does not contain any encumbrances unacceptable to the Government. 2) Full disclosure of any hazardous wastes or toxic materials on the site must be communicated to the Government in writing. 3) Easy access to the property via public transportation and major roadways must currently exist or be planned for the immediate future. 4) Appropriate utility service and road access must presently exist or must be presently approved or planned by the appropriate jurisdiction(s). VA staff will conduct a market survey of offered properties.
