- The Social Security Administration (SSA) Plumbing Shop has a requirement for a contractor to provide a ?? x 8? Hydraulic Shear, Betenbender Model 8?-250, BRAND NAME OR EQUAL, with the following Salient Features. ? Capacity ? A-36 Mild Steel (80,000 tensile) ?? ? Capacity ? 304 Stainless Steel (at highest rake) ?? ? 15 H.P. Main Motor ? 100 inches ? Nominal Cutting Length ? Number of Hold Downs ? 15 ? Knives ? (4 Cutting Edges) 100? x 1? x 4? ? Rake of Moving Blade (per foot) ?? ? Back Gauge Range ? 36 inches ? Approximate 72 gallon Hydraulic Tank (Oil Included) ? Machine Dimensions - Not to exceed 132? Overall Length; Not to exceed 76? Overall Width (Including Back Gauge) ? Electrical Requirements - 220 Volts ? Foot Control Switch ? LED Readout ? Disconnect Switch ? Light Beam Gauge ? 5 Station NC ?GO-TO? Backgauge Positioner ? Neoprene Hold Down Caps ? Solid Steel Table Top with bolt on segments ? Front Support Arms ? One Shot Lube Contractor will be required to remove old shear (of like size and dimension to new) from the SSA Plumbing shop located at 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235, and relocate it to a storage site on SSA Campus (approx. one mile away). Contractor will be required to unload it from the truck at designated site. Contractor will also deliver and install new shear ?Turn Key? (set in place, level, calibrate, install optional features and perform all necessary tasks to leave shear in proper operating order), with the exception of electrical hook up, which will be done by SSA Electricians. Vendor will be responsible for providing training to nine Plumbing Shop employees on the safe and proper use of the Hydraulic Shear. This is 100% set-aside for small businesses. For Non-Manufacturers, suppliers must offer products manufactured by a Small Business and the small business size standard is 500 employees. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract for this requirement. The vendor will be required to make delivery and installation of the equipment no later than 60 days from date of award. This requirement will be procured utilizing FAR Part 13 -Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued on or about April 23 2007.
