REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS) , NO: 3, LOBBY RENOVATION, BUILDING 230,SOL: W912CH- 07-R-A505 1. SHEET 2 OF 7. SCOPE OF WORK ITEM #13B. A.IS BLAST RESISTANCE GLASS REQUIRED AT EAST & WEST SIDE WINDOWS? Yes. Laminate windows are required for these new exterior windows. 2. SHEET 6 OF 7. NOTE: FIRE PROTECTION NOTES. To make sure your bid meets this fire protection requirement, you will need to contact SIMPLEX and get a fire protection plan from them. SIMPLEX maintains our fire protection system and will have all of the information you need. This is the easiest and most accurate way of complying with this SOW. A. IS THERE FIRE PROTECTION IN PLACE IN THE EXISTING BUILDING? B. WHAT IS THE PROPOSED LOCATION OF TIE-IN? C. WHAT IS SIZE OF EXISTING PIPE? A. . 3.. SHEET 2 0F 7. SCOPE OF WORK NOTE #11 A. ARE NEW STAINLESS STEEL COLUMN COVERS TO BE CUSTOM MADE? These ornamental column coverings will be manufactured by someone in the business of making column coverings and installed per this manufacturer's recommendation. The contractor, after demolishi ng the existing columns shall minimize the diameter of the new column coverings and ensuring that there is access to any utilities that run down the columns. B. IF SO, CAN THEY HAVE VERTICAL OR HORIZONTAL JOINTS? Minimize any visible seams. Prefer one long vertical joint that will be situated away from the front doors after installation. C. IF MANUFACTURED UNITS, PLEASE FORWARD MANUFACTURER & PART NUMBER. No specific manufacturer or model number in mind. The contractor will have to do some research regarding these ornamental column coverings.
