Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District in preparing a solicitation to award a contract to rewedge Main Unit 14 at Bonneville Dams Second Powerhouse. The Second Powerhouse is located on the Columbia River in North Bonneville, Washington. The work includes furnishing supervision, engineering, labor, materials, plant, and equipment to completely rewedge unit 14 generator stator. The work will be performed during a 30-day period. The Government will disassemble and make the unit available to the contractor. The Government will also reassemble the unit. The Contractor shall: 1. Perform mobilization and demobilization of Contractor equipment and personnel. Install work platform. 2. Perform full inspection of the stator core and winding, ma ke recommendations for any additional work needed e.g. winding ties, iron repair, ring bus blocking, etc. 3. Test the stator 4. Test the rotor 5. Provide a complete set of stator slot wedges and side packing. Rewedge the stator. Side pack slots where pos sible. 6. Reverse and silver plate the main and neutral leads 7. Provide, install and test the PDA pling capacitors 8. Paint the stator assembly and buswork 9. Perform final electrical tests 10. Clean and paint the rotor without asbestos (Optional) 11. Per form the EL-CID tests of the stator core (Optional) 12. Replace the existing stator Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) cables with new cables and test (Optional) 13. Remediate for any asbestos found during the performance of the contract Company Experie nce: Offeror shall have successfully performed previous rewedge contracts of 13.8 kV, 70 MVA hydroelectric generator or larger, having the same wedging system as that proposed. Installation Supervisor Experience: The installation Supervisor must have 5 ye ars of experience directing rewedge of a 13.8 kV, 70 MVA hydroelectric generator or larger, having the same wedging system as that proposed. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Enginee rs, Portland District. For this project, the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO ma y have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual.
