Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Biological Resources Discipline, Aquatic Ecology Branch (AEB), Leetown Science Center, Kearneysville, WV, has a requirement for identifying and enumerating benthic macroinvertebrates collected from headwater and mid-reach streams in the Shenandoah National Park (SHEN) in Virginia, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DEWA) in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The contractor must be able to perform the following: 1. Identify specimens to genus whenever possible using appropriate standard keys. 2. Identify all specimens from samples containing fewer than 500 specimens. (For samples containing greater than 500 specimens, an established sub-sampling method (e.g., RBP III EPA protocols) may be used with prior approval of the Contracting Office Representative(COR). 3. Create, maintain, and present a voucher collection. 4. Create Excel spreadsheet or Access database files (i.e., sample number by taxon matrices, populated with number of individuals). Data files should be saved via Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or Microsoft Access table formats. Contractor must have an active registration in Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
