Description

REPLACE QUARRY TILE AT VISITOR'S ENTRANCE PROJECT # 637-07-108 PREVIOUS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE VA24607RP0090 IS CANCELLED AND REPLACED BY VA24607RP0104 STATEMENT OF WORK The contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and qualified supervision to perform maintenance work as described with construction drawings and specifications. The work will be performed at various sites in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications as well as OHSA and EPA requirements. The work may include, but not limited to removing existing finishes, Demolition will include hanging plastic dust barrier walls and wet sanding all surfaces to receive new finish. VCT flooring to be removed may contain asbestos and will need to be removed under monitored circumstances. All work will be in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications.   Place of Performance: Tasks will be performed at the VAMC Asheville, NC. Work will be around an occupied healthcare facility in operation 24 hours a day and care will be taken to keep work areas clean and contained. Work shall be completed within 210 days of the Notice to Proceed being issued. The NACIS code is 236220 with a small business size standard of $31M. This procurement is 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-aside. The cost range is between $20,000 and $30,000. The solicitation will be available for download at the Federal Business Opportunity website on or about April 23, 2007. Bidders are responsible for downloading any and all documents pertaining to this solicitation from the website. Paper solicitations will not be issued. Request for drawings must be in writing to Helen Kohler, Contracting Officer, 1100 Tunnel Road, Building 15, Room 330, Asheville, NC 28805. Fax requests for drawings will be accepted at (828) 299-5919. Electronic/Fax bids are not acceptable. STATEMENT OF WORK (a) General: This project will consist of replacing existing tile flooring at the visitor's entrance at the VA Medical Center, Asheville, NC. Work will include removing existing 12"X12" tile floor and adhesive and installing new specialty vinyl flooring in its place. Area where tile is removed will need to be leveled and brought up to the level of the surrounding floor. A new expansion joint will need to be installed across the area. Area of work is approximately 1000 square feet. All work will be in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications.   (b) Place of Performance: Tasks will be performed at the VAMC Asheville, NC. Work will be around an occupied healthcare facility in operation 24 hours a day.
