Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate HUBZone certified small business contractors for this project. HUBZone businesses are not restricted to any specified area. The proposed project is a Civil Works flood damage red uction project located along Duck Creek, near Madison Road, in eastern Cincinnati, Ohio. The proposed contract work includes: a) construction of approximately 1586 linear feet of earthen levee at maximum height of 10 feet; b) construction of approximately 2117 linear feet of driven steel sheet pile floodwall, with concrete facing above ground surface; c) excavation of approximately 410 cubic yards of material for improvements to creek channel; d) construction of 2192 linear feet of reinforced concrete T-w all, 22-foot maximum stem height; e) fabrication and installation of a 7-foot high by 65-foot wide welded steel closure gate, automated with a wire rope cable, single drum electrical winch and associated electrical controls; and f) installation of a 470 fe et long buried 82-inch by 128-inch reinforced concrete elliptical pipe. The estimated cost range for this project is between $10,000,000 to $25,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990. The solicitation, when iss ued, will be a Request for Proposal, consisting of both technical and price proposals. Technical proposals will be evaluated on factors such as Experience, Management, Past Performance, and Safety. Fifteen percent (15%) of the work shall be self-performe d. All interested HUBZone certified small businesses should notify this office in writing by mail at the above address to the attention of David L. Shuck, or by fax to 502-315-6195 by noon (Louisville local time) on May 23, 2007. Responses should include : (1) Identification of company as a Hubzone certified small business; (2) Past Experience with projects that are similar in size and scope to the proposed project; (3) Letter from bonding agency indicating performance and payment bonds approval for a proj ect in the dollar range listed above; and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 15% of the work and how it will be accomplished.
