- Availability of a prospectus for solicitation of offers to operate two businesses that will provide overnight camping with short and long day rides; overnight trips; multi-day trips; and the sale of souvenirs, snacks, and horse related items. Gross revenues over the past three years have averaged approximately $50,000 - $58,000 annually. The Prospectus describes two existing horse campground operations in the Big South Fork National River Recreation Area (BISO). The National Park Service (Service) is combining under the Draft Contract - Station Camp Horse Camp which is located 10 miles west of Oneida, Tennessee and Bear Creek Horse Camp which is located 10 miles west of Whitley City, Kentucky on the eastern edge of the Park. The camps are approximately 25 miles apart by road. The term of this Contract is expected to be five years, and will require a minimum franchise fee to paid to the National Park Service of 2.5% of gross revenue per year. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR 51 has determined that this is a qualified contract, within the meaning regarding determination of a preferred offeror. The current concessioner has been determined to have been a 'satisfactory' operator. The current concessioner is considered to be a 'preferred offeror' which basically means that they do have the right to match the terms of any better offers. Offers must be received by June 22, 2007 by 4:00 p.m. The Prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, the opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions, and the proposal package (including the selection factors).. The Prospectus is available at the NPS website at http:www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm, or you can receive a hard copy at the cost of $50.00. Please make checks for $50.00 payable to the National Park Service. This cost includes an administrative charge to recoup printing cost of $45.00 plus a $5.00 mailing fee for each prospectus. Please include a physical address (not post office box) and telephone number.
