- Description
- SOURCES SOUGHT FOR LEAN SIX SIGMA FOR HEALTHCARE TRAINING AND PROJECT GUIDANCE. Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 11 Southern Tier, VA Medical Centers and their VA staffed Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) are seeking sources to develop a self sustaining Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training and implementation program that includes classroom/online training and hands on project selection, mentoring, and completion. The goal of this project is that at the end of the contract period, three VISN 11 sites will have fully functional, comprehensive, self-sustaining Lean Six Sigma programs that have been adapted to the unique organizational culture and healthcare delivery model of the VA. In order to achieve this end, the successful contractor is expected to provide not only on-site, didactic training but to provide on-site practicum (hands-on) training by leading each of the three VISN 11 healthcare systems (Illiana Health Care System, Roudebush VA Medical Center, and Northern Indiana Health Care System (NIHCS)) through the successful completion of at least two black-belt and two green belt level projects per site. The Illiana Health Care System includes a facility in Danville, IL and CBOCs in Peoria, Springfield, and Decatur, IL and in Lafayette, IN. The Roudebush VA Medical Center is located in downtown Indianapolis, IN and NIHCS has campuses in Fort Wayne and Marion, IN. The black and green belt projects are to be selected by site leadership in conjunction with the contractor master black belts. Deliverables for this project will consist of the training/education of employees, provision of training materials, completion of two black belt and two green belt projects per site, the development of curriculums for further training/education, project support and involvement, and software identification. All training and project guidance is expected to occur on site. The contract period for the LSS implementation is expected to last one year. The Small Business Administration (SBA) uses the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes to establish size standards on an industry-by-industry basis.
