- Description
- The work will consist of maintenance dredging of beach quality sand to a maximum depth of -51 feet (mlw) from Cut-1N between Stations 100+00 and 220+00 and the North Settling Basin between Stations 119+00 and 220+00. The placement area will be DA/B- North Beach, beginning at Monument R 25 and extending south approximately 8,000 feet. The maintenance dredging and beach placement shall be performed by an ocean certified cutter-suction dredge with a 24- to 30-inch diameter pump discharge. The dredge sh all be complete with all necessary materials, supplies (including fuel, power, and water), labor, and transportation for maintenance dredging operations. The attendant plant must include one vessel, with a minimum brake horsepower of 2,200 HP. The attend ant plant must be available at all times to assist in the total dredging operation. The plant, labor, materials and equipment shall include the capability to perform in-progress hydrographic and topographic check surveys throughout dredging and beach plac ement operations. Work may also include turbidity monitoring, beach tilling, endangered species monitoring and turtle relocation. This will be a rental contract. For the purpose of bidding and evaluating bids, the bid schedule will contain a Base Bid an d four Options. The Base Bid will consist of a specified number of hours for the 24-inch and 30-inch dredge, respectively, and each of the four Options will contain additional hours for each of the dredge categories. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. THIS PROCUREMENT IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION. COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION OF VESSELS IS REQUIRED. ALL RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. The solicitation will be issued on or about 11 May 2007 with bid s due on or about 12 June 2007.
