Description

The principal components of the work to be performed involves removal of lead-based paint, cleaning, and recoating of metalwork associated with the Palisades Dam fixed wheel gates for the two outlet tunnels. Palisades Dam is located approximately 55 miles southeast of Idaho Falls, Idaho, in Bonneville County. The metalwork associated fixed wheel gates includes the gate stems, gate stem guide rails, gate stem guide rail supports, gate stem carriage assembly, gate stem couplings assembly, stem handling support assembly, fixed wheel gate guide rails, and access ladders/handrails for different concrete levels. The intake structures consist of various walkways and concrete levels. This acquisition will be a full-and-open sealed bid competition under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program and will not be set-aside. The NAICS Code is 238320, Painting and Wall Paper Contractors, and the small business standard is $13.0M. The estimated range of the construction work is $100K to $250K. The performance period for the work is 75 days. The solicitation may be available either on CD-ROM in Adobe Acrobat format or availble for download at our website on or about May 11, 2007 (this is an estimated date). To be included on the planholder list, interested bidders must register on our website at www.usbr.gov/pn/contracts/construction. Visit the website to obtain further instructions about registering. If you don't provide your DUNS (Data Universal Numbering System) and TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) on the electronic registration form, we will not send the solicitation to you if we decide to issue a CD. Telephone requests for the solicitation won't be accepted. There is no charge for the first copy of a CD and a charge of $15 for each additional copy requested. We reserve the right to issue the solicitation on paper if it becomes necessary. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which we will consider.
