Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business concerns ( SDVOSB) or for Small Businesses. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for the Drydock and Repair of the USCGC TEMPEST (WPC-2), 179 FOOT CYCLONE CLASS PATROL COASTAL. The performance period is for 90 days, commencing on or about September 17, 2007 and ending December 16, 2007. This work is such as, but not limited to: Welding Repairs, Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) Shot Inspection, Clean and Inspect Fuel and Oil Tanks (Includes Disposal), Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, and Renew #3 Stern Tube, Renew Shaft Bearings, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, Inspect MDE Exhaust System, Clean and Inspect Heat Exchangers, Overhaul Pump and Motor Assemblies, Overhaul and Renew Valves, Overhaul and Renew Duplex Sea Strainers, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, Overhaul Stabilizing Fins, Overhaul and Preserve Anchor and Anchor Chain, Combatant Craft Retrieval System Maintenance, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping Systems, Preserve Chain Locker & Anchor Windlass Room, Preserve Various Bilges, Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, Preserve Ballast Tanks and Voids, Preserve Weather Decks, Preserve Boat Well and Stern Door Interior Surfaces, Preserve Underwater Body, Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection System, Routine Drydocking, Provide Temporary Logistics, Inspect Pilot House Deck and Sub-Structure, Replace Switchboard Bus Mounting Modules, Overhaul Shipboard Ventilation Motors, Inspect and Maintain Ship?s Air Conditioning System, Overhaul Reverse Osmosis Distilling Plant, Overhaul Mechanical Hatch, Refurbish Forward and Aft Heads, Renew Deck Covering Systems, Relocate Main Switchboard Fuse Holder, Governor Actuator Terminal Board, Wesmar Sonar Layup & Removal, SSDG Governor System Power Source Isolation, Install Static Inverter, Install Digital Compass System, MDE Access Deck Plate Modification ,Install MPDE Saltwater Pressure Monitoring Gages, Forward Generator Exhaust Piping Modification, MDE #1 Lube Oil Supply Line Modification, Install Mechanical Shaft Seal Assemblies, Repair Propeller Root Erosion, Preserve Oily Water Tank, Preserve Sewage Collection and Holding Tank. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. In your response you must include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by May 03, 2007. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted at www.fbo.gov.
