Description
The purpose of this Amendment is to answer questions submitted by prospective offerors and to add additional information to the minimum requirements stated in the Specifications. Therefore, effective as of the date of this Amendment: 1. The following Questions and Answers are provided: Question 1: It is not clear as to what type of microscope platform this is to be on, upright or inverted? Answer: The system requirement is for an inverted confocal microscope platform. Question 2. SCAN HEAD - Scan head with fiber connections for both standard and normal detectors. Due to inefficiency of fiber coupling, we have switched to direct coupling to our detectors. Is there a reason why fiber coupling will be useful for your needs? Answer: No, there is not a reason why fiber coupling is more useful for our needs. The language for this requirement can be changed to: ?Scan head with connections for both standard and normal detectors.? (eliminate the word ?fiber?) 2. The following is added to the Specifications: 1. Add this to the description on Systems: ?Illuminator/fiber optic coupling enabling darkfield microscopy for low contrast samples? 2. Add this to the description on Objectives: ?Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) APO 100x NA 1.49 oil immersion objective providing high transmittance in the near infrared (NIR) frequency range.? NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (26-APR-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
