- This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued separately. The solicitation number is FA5000-06-T-0009. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated FAR provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-16 and Class Deviation 2005-o0001. The DFARS provisions and clauses are those in effect to DCN 20070327. This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE under NAICS code 532412. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and tools necessary to rent a Caterpillar steel drum vibratory roller model CB534 or equal. Rental period will be 1 May 2007 to 30 Sep 2007. Vehicle must not be more than three years old. Compactor must be an articulating, vibratory, double drum compactor with hydrostatic drive and a diesel-fueled engine. The vehicle should meet prescribed fuel economy standards. Drum shall be approximately 66 inches in width and 48 inches in diameter with a centrifugal force maximum rating of 26,000 Ibs per drum. Weight of machine shall be at least 20,000 pounds. It shall also be equipped with a water tank (250 gal minimum) with a system to deliver water to each steel drum for the purpose of rolling hot mix asphalt. Machine shall also be equipped with a roll over protection system (ROPS) cab cover, back-up alarm, work lights, inside wiper bars (to clean drums) and coca mats. This unit will be utilized for the compaction of asphalt pavements at Elmendorf AFB, AK. *The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation - Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Offers will be evaluated based on technically acceptable, low price.
