Description
This is a Sources Sought for Clinical Training for Military Health Personnel: Prolonged Exposure Treatment of Combat Related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This is not a solicitation, nor does it guarantee a solicitation will be issued. This is a request to determine whether or not any small businesses are capable of providing this service. McGuire AFB, NJ will require support to provide the development and delivery of a 3-day clinical workshop for mental health personnel (psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, mental health nurses, and mental health technicians). The goal of the workshops is to train military mental health providers to provide cognitive-behavioral therapy for active duty military members with combat-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The contractor shall provide a workshop specifically tailored for the treatment of combat-related stress disorders (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder and acute stress disorder) in U.S. military personnel. This will include the creation of workshop handouts, reprints of scientific publications, clinical assessment materials, psychological measures, and a provider's treatment manual. The 3-day clinical training workshops will include a review of evidence-based interventions for PTSD with a specific emphasis on prolonged exposure therapy. Approximately 15-20 military mental health personnel will attend each workshop and attendees will receive training in the assessment and treatment of PTSD in CONUS and deployed locations. Clinical case examples including audiotapes of treatment sessions of active-duty military patients with posttraumatic stress disorder and acute stress disorder who were treated in Iraq will be reviewed. Attendees will be provided copies of assessment tools and a treatment manual for prolonged exposure treatment of combat-related PTSD. Submission of any information in response to this sources sought notice is completely voluntary, and shall not constitute a fee to the Government.
