- THE PURPOSE OF THIS MODIFICATION IS TO CORRECT THE PLACE OF PERFORMANCE. PREVIOUSLY THE PLACE OF PERFORMANCE LISTED WAS ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN, IN FACT, IN NOW READS OSWEGO VESSEL BASE, OSWEGO, NY. E.C. Announcement The U. S. Geological Survey, is accepting proposals for the installation of a fire/flooding and general alarm system on the Research Vessel KAHO. The Research Vessel KAHO is a 65 foot trawler supporting fisheries research on Lake Ontario for the USGS Great Lakes Science Center, Ann Arbor, MI. The R/V KAHO was built in 1961 and has had several modifications to modernize and improve safety. This statement of work is to find a licensed contractor to install the system on the KAHO in full accordance with all of the requirements, drawings, and specifications provided by RAM-TECH engineers to the USGS. Copies of the requirements, drawings, and specifications are available for review at the Oswego Vessel Base. The vessel is docked at the Oswego Coast Guard Station which is a security area. Personnel working on the vessel may be stopped for an identification check. The vessel is in the water and will move in rough weather. Workers may experience motion sickness. Some of the installation will be in confined spaces. Due caution must be used by installer. Installation of the alarm system is to be completed during the week of June 11 -15, 2007 at the Oswego Vessel Base, 17 Lake St., Oswego, NY. All responsible sources with a valid DUNS number may submit a proposal with quotation which shall be considered by USGS. The request for quote, ERQQ0102, with Statement of Work and Evaluation Factors can be found at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. A copy of the specifications will be provided during the site visit. A site visit is highly recommended. An appointment can be scheduled with Capt. Ed Taber by calling (315) 343-3951, Ext. 13. Site visits can be scheduled for anytime from 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday, May 14th or Tuesday, May 15th. If there are any questions regarding the RFQ and/or specifications, only send emails to enemmers@usgs.gov. Phone calls will not be accepted. Due date for all questions is 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 16th. It is the Government's intent to answer all questions at one time and via an amendment to the RFQ, which will be posted by 4:30PM on Friday, May 18th. Responses for the RFQ are due by 4:00PM EST on Monday, May 21st . The NAICS code for this acquisition is 238210.
