Description
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for fabrication of a Dust Environmental Effect Particle Vacuum Chamber. The information is as follows: The new dust facility will comprise a 48 inch diameter x 72? long horizontal 304L stainless steel cylindrical vacuum chamber and 2 stainless steel hinged doors. The chamber will have multiple fixed and rotating conflat flanged ports of different sizes. The chamber will be supported on a steel frame equipped with a minimum of 4 swivel castors and 4 leveling feet so that the center line of the chamber will be 4 feet above the floor. The chamber will be able to perform vacuum testing on space products and will be capable of maintaining a vacuum of <5 X 10-9 torr. The indepth specifications for the particular item are attached. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 339111 and 500 Employees, respectively. The anticipated release date of RFQ NNG07194714Q is on or about May 17, 2007 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about June 17, 2007. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B". Selection and award will be made to the offeror who represents the Best Value to the government. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
