- The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for HUBZone Small business concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC IBIS (WPB- 87338) an 87 foot Coastal Patrol Boat at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 days with a start date on or about September 3, 2007. The homeport of the vessel is Cape May NJ. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about May 24, 2007 at http://www.fbo.gov/. The scope of the acquisition is to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC IBIS (WPB-87338) including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: Welding Repairs; Clean and Inspect Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks (Excludes Fuel Disposal); Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; Repair Shaft; Straighten Shaft; Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers; Perform Minor Repair and Recondition of Propeller; Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Stern Launch Door Pivot Pins, Bushings, and Washers; Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping System; Preserve RHIB Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surfaces; Preserve Underwater Body; Renew Cathodic Protection System; Renew Transducer Fairing; Routine Drydocking; Provide Temporary Logistics; Renew Main Diesel Engine Exhaust Concentric Rings; Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements; Preserve Mast and Provide Scaffolding; Preserve Forward Peak Compartment Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing The following Geographic Restrictions applies for the USCGC IBIS (WPB-87338): to travel no further than 540 Nautical Miles from the vessels home pier on navigable waterways. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ). Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).
