Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for vehicle mounted electric power generation systems to be ready for production in no later than 12-18 months. Anticipated capability is for under armor or outside armor on tactical wheeled vehicles or combat wheeled and tracked vehicles at 5 to 20 kilowatts of 24-28 Volts DC electric power, via either engine driven generator, or auxiliary power unit to be mounted on the vehicle. Alternatively, systems that can produce electric power at 120 VAC, single phase, 60 Hz are also desired. Power shall be provided while the vehicle is moving. For engine driven generator applications, power availability at low vehicle engine speeds is of importance and should be addressed in these situations. For auxiliary power unit applications, fuel supply will be provided from the vehicle fuel system. Commercial firms possessing products that can provide the listed characteristics are encouraged and invited to submit the following information via email transmission: 1) Corporation name, point of contact, contact email; 2) Small or Large Business size; 3) Literature fact sheets of product(s) available (attach as PDF); 4) Technology Readiness Level as defined by www.tswg.gov/tswg/techtrans/TRLDefinitions.pdf; 5) Required timeframe and estimated cost to provide 1,10,100, and 1000 production units; 6) Availability of first product sample for evaluation purposes 7) Any current General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule contract information regarding item availability, pricing, and discounts. GSA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4). Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments emerging requirements. This sources-sought/Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP), or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission, of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/ non-proprietary information.
