Description
THIS WAS PREVIOUSLY SYNOPSIZED WITH THE REFERENCE NUMBER, 2007-N-09267, AS THE SOLICITATION NUMBER. 2007-N-09267 WILL BE THE SOLICITATION NUMBER. THIS SYNOPSIS WAS ISSUED TO REVISE TO A NAICS CODE THAT BETTER DECRIBES THE REQUIREMENT. This project entitled Enhancing Professional Development Among Education Agency Personnel and Others Who Work With Youth to Deliver Effective Education for Reducing Health Risk Behaviors Among Youth is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH). The purpose of this project is to provide assistance to state education agencies (SEAs), local education agencies (LEAs), territory education agencies (TEAs) and select national non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to strengthen their ability to implement professional development activities that will improve the quality of health education programs addressing HIV prevention education, coordinated school health programs, physical activity, nutrition, tobacco, asthma, and other health priorities. Professional development at all levels is central to the success of such programs. One of the core elements expected of DASH-funded partners is professional development for teachers, administrators, school staff and others working with youth programs. To provide guidance for those efforts, CDC has developed and distributed CDC-DASH Six Strategies for Professional Development, and funded agencies through cooperative agreements or contracts to provide technical assistance with professional development efforts. The successful contractor will provide all of the personnel, materials and facilities required for the completion of tasks such as: Provide tailored professional development technical assistance; Develop a plan for providing continuing education for DASH-funded partner staff; Plan and implement professional development training; Collaborate to plan and coordinate professional development activities; Orient new DASH-funded project staff to the Contractor's services and available professional development resources; Assess the needs of DASH-funded projects related to professional development and advise the projects and CDC/DASH of such needs; Serve as a clearinghouse to gather and organize professional development resources and information and provide access to materials, conference information, speakers, trainers, and consultants identified. Award of a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee contract in accordance with FAR Part 15 is contemplated. The Government will consider all responsible small business sources responding to this Request for Proposals (RFP). The tentative issue date of the RFP is May 7, 2007.
