Program Title: Tower Simulation System FAA POC: Ryan King, ryan.m.king@faa.gov Organization: AJA-48 Region: FAA Headquarters Date: May 4, 2007 BACKGROUND: Previous announcements regarding this program can be found on the FAA Contract Opportunities website (http://faaco.faa.gov/index.cfm) by searching for "Tower Simulation" in the search "by keyword" field. Be sure to check the "Include Archive" checkbox to view all announcements. PURPOSE: The purpose of this announcement is provide updates regarding the TSS procurement and to obtain an interested vendors list. 1) Previously vendors were required to provide a notice of intent to attend Industry Day 2 by the May 7. This is hereby changed. Vendors will be required to provide the said notice of intent within two days after the SIR/RFP is released. Even vendors that have already indicated to FAA their intent to attend Industry Day 2 are asked to do so again in accordance with the above stated timeline. It will still be required that no more than three representatives attend Industry Day 2 from each vendor team/partnership. 2) Industry Day 2 had been scheduled to begin May 16. This is hereby changed. Industry Day 2 is now anticipated to take place May 23 or May 30. FAA understands that advance notice of the exact date is important for vendors to appropriately plan and FAA will use its best efforts to afford the greatest amount of advanced notice as possible. 3) Interested Vendors List - Vendors that are interested in being placed on an Interested Vendors List for the TSS procurement shall provide company name and point of contact information to the FAA Contract Specialist, Ryan King, at ryan.m.king@faa.gov by 12:00 noon on May 10, 2007. On that date FAA intends to publish the list of vendors on the FAA Contract Opportunities website. The purpose of the list is to facilitate subcontracting and teaming/partnering opportunities for vendors interested in the TSS procurement. 4) Answers to questions which were received during the posting of the draft documents and at Industry Day 1 will be posted early in the week of May 6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This announcement is not intended to guarantee procurement of these services, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. This is not a request for proposal. The Government is not liable for any costs incurred for the simulator demonstration or the development of a written proposal. Additionally, the Government is not liable for any costs associated with the preparation and submittal of inquiries or responses to this announcement and will not reimburse any firm for costs incurred responding to this public announcement or as a result of the Industry Days. Until further notice all updates and announcements related to this procurement will be communicated via the FAA Contract Opportunities website (http://faaco.faa.gov/index.cfm) which was used to post this announcement. Vendors are responsible for monitoring this website for updates to this procurement.
