- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for 123 adaptive data voice multiplexers, RAD Data Communications part number DVMUX3/V/115/E/V24-FAA, for the FA-10391 Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range/Distance Measuring Equipment (VOR/DME.) An engineering study showed that the RAD DVMUX3 SDM is the only SDM that would work in the FA-10391 VOR/DME and associated RSCE remote unit without extensive system modification. A complete modification kit was developed to support the RAD DVMUX3 multiplexer installation into the FA-10391 VOR/DME and prototype installations have been installed and are currently working at three locations. Procuring an alternate multiplexer would result in re-engineering the modification kit and rewriting the System Support Modification document. In addition, the prototype installation at the three test sites would no longer be compatible with the rest of the modified sites and the project would be significantly delayed. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded to Pulse, Inc., Temecula, CA; RAD Data Communications' authorized value added reseller for this unit in the United States. This announcement is for information purposes only, not a request for offer.
