Description
RFP FP7028/KAM - Design, Furnish, Deliver and Install Prefabricated Platform Sections At Deanwood And Minnesota Avenue Stations The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is soliciting proposals to rehabilitate platform edge slabs at Minnesota and Deanwood Avenue Stations. The Contractor shall: ? Perform a detailed survey and measurement of all features in the stations that will affect the rehabilitation of the platform edges; including the identity and function of existing mechanical and electrical systems. ? Submit to the Authority a detailed plan of the entire work sequence including methods of accommodating each mechanical and electrical item identified as well as demolition methods and protection methods for existing structures and finishes to remain. ? Remove portions of the existing platform edge slab in sections that can be replaced with precast concrete sections within the time constraints of the allowable track occupancy. ? Fabricate, deliver and install precast concrete sections. ? Construct new access points to existing spaces beneath the platform. ? Maintain the installation and functioning of existing mechanical and electrical systems identified during the survey referenced above. ? Apply architectural finishes to the precast concrete sections including all sealants, fillers, membranes, platform tiles, granite edge strips, glass lenses and lighting fixtures required to return the platform to revenue service. ? Clean the newly installed platform sections and return them to the Authority ready for revenue service. Estimated cost range is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Work to be completed within 1,095 Calendar Days after NTP. A pre-proposal conference/site visit has been tentatively scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Minnesota Avenue Station Kiosk. Proposals are due o/a June 12, 2007.
