- This work consists of repairing 5 storm damaged sites along Forest Road 40071. Work elements include furnishing equipment, labor, and materials associated with roadway and borrow excavation, placing embankments, removing and salvaging of metal culverts, furnishing and installing metal pipes with steel and sections. Work also includes construction of a concrete cut-off wall, furnishing and placing riprap, reconstructing a stream overflow channel, constructing rolling dips, and related work including clearing and grubbing and treating construction slash. Water sources are not designated, the Contractor is responsible for furnishing water from sources other than from National Forest Lands. Riprap and borrow excavation sources are generally located adjacent to the project area or may be designated up to 1000 feet from each of the project sites. Gathering and sorting of riprap is necessary. Five individual sites are designated along Forest Road 40071, for road repair. The project is located on the Fishlake National Forest. To access the project from Marysvale Utah travel South approximately 5 miles on US Route 89 watch for a Forest Sign indicating DRY CREEK ROAD, travel East on a Piute County Road approximately 7 miles to the Elbow Ranch, continue on the County Road for another approximate 5 miles to the Forest Boundary on Forest Road 40071. Site #1 begins approximately 500 feet past the Forest Boundary; the remaining sites are beyond Site # 1. There will be a site visit on June 6, 2007 at 10:00 A.M.. Meet at Supervisor?s Office, 115 East, 900 North, Richfield, Utah and travel to the jobsite after a brief meeting. This project will be issued approximately 16 May, 2007.*******
