A Pre-Bid Meeting was held April 26, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. for "Update Primary Electrical Distribution, Ph IV", Solicitation No. VA-263-07-IB-0001. Bid opening is set for May 31, 2007 at 2:00 pm, local time, this is a public bid opening. 2. Bill LaFerriere and Wendy Hoeschen of the VA Medical Center Staff reviewed the following items: a. ALL AMENDMENTS MUST BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY BIDDERS ON SF 1442. ANY AMENDMENTS ISSUED TO THIS SOLICITATION WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE, ALL OFFERORS ARE ADVISED THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL AMENDMENTS. b. Regular work hours are 8-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays, anything else has to be pre-approved by the COTR and the Contracting Officer. c. Read the contract specifications and drawings carefully and encourage your subcontractors to do the same. You will be held in strict accordance to them. d. All contractors and subcontractors must pay according to the Davis Bacon Wage Determination in the contract specifications. e. All correspondence and questions will go through Wendy Hoeschen, Contracting Officer. Terms of the solicitation and specifications remain unchanged unless the solicitation is amended in writing. g. Contractor will have 365 calendar days to complete this project after notice to proceed is issued, this is a change from the original spec that stated 240 calendar days. Contractors MUST register on the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website, www.ccr.gov. Award cannot and will not be made until the Contractor is registered on the CCR website. If a contractor does not register, award could be made to the next low bidder. All products used on this contract MUST BE MADE IN AMERICA. We will be checking this on a regular basis on the jobsite and we WILL make you replace any item that is not made in the USA. Refer to the contract specifications section, 01010, 1.1, E, the OSHA training requirements will be strictly enforced prior to any work beginning. Parking will be very tight. All vehicles will have to be parked down below the hill. Do what the specifications say. A job superintendent/OSHA certified competent person needs to be on site at all times when there is work being done. If you encounter anything that looks like asbestos, stop and do not disturb it and contact the COTR. No power outages will be allowed between 5/30/07 through 9/15/07 or after 5/30/08.
