Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has a requirement for an enterprise commercial off the shelf web based, Point of Care Clinical Knowledge Product that will be made available throughout the VHA healthcare system. For the purpose of this solicitation announcement, these products may also be referred to as bedside information tools because they have been designed to provide information at the patient's bedside or point of care. The product provides information that will directly affect patient care. What distinguishes these products from sources such as electronic textbooks or bibliographic citations databases that may link to full text is this emphasis on point-of-care, patient-oriented information. These products are distinctly different from text-based, point-of-care sources such as printed guidelines: these electronic resources are updated much more frequently than print resources and provide tools for easily searching and sharing information. The desired goals of the nationwide provision of a commercial Point of Care Clinical Knowledge Products are as follows: 1. Providing access nationwide to standard knowledge based clinical information resources available at the point of care, will build on the enterprise wide availability of the web based version of New England Journal of Medicine; 2. Making this Point of Care Clinical Knowledge Product available through CPRS (Computerized Patient Record System), the VA's Electronic Health Record, nationwide to insure consistent access at the bedside for all VHA health professionals and staff. The Government plans to award a firm fixed price contract for the subscription period of one year, with three option years. This acquisition is issued unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 516110. The size standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees. A contract will be awarded with discussions resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation that will be most advantageous to the Government. The solicitation will be posted to this website-FedBizOpps-for downloading and will provide all necessary information for offerors to prepare and submit a proposal. Responses to the solicitation must be received by close of business, as indicated in the solicitation. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation. This announcement does not constitute the solicitation. The point of contact for this solicitation is Karen Lebo, Contract Specialist, Phone: 440-397-3584. Email address is Karen.lebo2@va.gov.
