- NON-PERSONAL SERVICE: The 65th Contracting Squadron at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal is planning to purchase non-personal services for grounds maintenance services for Lajes Field. The contractor shall provide all management, tools, equipment, materials, and labor necessary to ensure that grounds maintenance and vegetation control operations are performed at Lajes Field in a manner that will maintain healthy grass, trees, shrubs, and plants to present a clean, neat, and professional appearance throughout the growing season. The growing season at Lajes Field consists of 52 weeks per year. The contractor shall ensure all areas scheduled for mowing are also patrolled and clear of litter, and dispose of all debris at a location off Lajes Field in accordance with existing local regulations. The contractor shall also maintain all ditch lines within an identified area, the sames as the grounds in that area. Grounds maintenance practices shall be consistent with commercial standards. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 561730 and the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) Code is 0782. This is an unrestricted procurement. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price contract. The Government intends to have a base performance period from 1 August 2007 through 31 July 2008, and four (4) option periods of 12-months each; for a total of five (5) years. This action will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about 22 May 2007 with a response due date on or about 22 June 2007. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR, www.ccr.gov) to be eligible for award and must provide Representations and Certifications, or submit necessary information with proposals. The Government plans to use the Internet and email as the primary means of disseminating and exchanging information. Hard copies of documentation will not be made available.
